An Update On My Situation:

Words cannot begin to express how thankful I am to have been blessed with such support from my wife, our sons, our family & friends, my school, and so many more during a very difficult step in my life. The contributions and comments left on the GoFundMe page were unbelievably kind and inspirational. I would also like to thank Therese Rinehart & Kevin Gilbert personally for keeping the website going in my absence and setting up the GoFundMe page.  The support has helped my family so much.  Thank you very sincerely from the bottom of my heart.

I am doing significantly better for now since beginning treatment for Parkinson’s Disease. I am seeing a wonderful neurologist regularly. He suggested that the initial treatments for most Parkinson’s patients will make you feel like you are a bird that has been let out of a cage and I couldn’t agree more.  His description was poetically accurate.  I have also been accepted to Emory’s Movement Disorder program which I will begin in the summer.

I have returned to work and teaching again for now. I will also begin again freely sharing new resources that I have created on the Matt’s Math Labs website. I may be a little slower and it may take me a little longer than it once did but that won’t stop me from continuing to create and develop resources for our new upcoming Georgia math curriculum.

Thank you again. Sincerely, -Matt

My name is Matthew M. Winking. I have been teaching High School Mathematics since 1993. Over the last several years, I have also designed and created numerous technology labs to assist teaching mathematics to students. I have facilitated several workshops for teachers that wish to empower students to understand mathematics on a deeper level through the use of technology. During some of these workshops that I facilitated, participants have also designed and created labs to share. Please post a comment if you like something or see something that should be corrected. M. I created this web-site to share some of these resources that specifically relate to the new Georgia Standards of Excellence. Here is a list of the courses I will be working towards creating resources:
